Kyle,

I had the same dilemma a month ago. A 99 323i or a 97 M3 Sedan. I decided on the 323i for these reasons.

1. Newer body style
"Will not be old for at least 5 years"
2. Lower Maintenance cost
3. Just love that new car smell

but the real clincher was the insurance quotes I received for both cars. I am 30 yrs old, clean record, married and the M3 would add about 1200 bucks a year. The 323 added 200 to my existing policy.

Either way, it depends on what you're really after. My inclination for the M3 Sedan rested primarily on its rarity. Only two years production run. Performance wasn't really an issue.

anyway, hope this provides some insight to your own "dilemma."

regards
Arnold
