: : : What bothers me most about the E46 is how cheap and Civic-like it looks in non-metallic colours, from behind or from the side. This is particularly true of the 323i (especially in white) with the black window surrounds.
: : : In metallic colours, though, the car looks really slick. It's amazing the discrepancy there is between metallic and non-metallic.
: : Resemblance to Civic is not that suprising - the current Civic coupe is a dead-ringer for the E36. I think Honda did a good job of borrowing the best style elements of the E36 when they designed the current generation Civic.
: : Regarding the "cheap" black trim - this is a taste issue. 323i gets black trim all around, while the 328 gets chrome around the windows.
: : Note that on the current 5-series, the trim is chrome all around, and the black trim is considered an extra cost feature! (It's sold as the "Shadowline" option in other countries, and bundled with the Sports Package in NA.)

THE DIAMANTE ORIGIONALLY COPIED THAT REAR STYLE FROM THE 5\7 SERIES, AND THE FRONT STYLE FROM THE E36 3 SERIES, THEN THE GALANT ALSO COPIED THE DESIGN THEME FROM THE EARLY TO MID 90S 5\7 SERIES REAR A BMW "WANNABE" IS MOR OF WHAT I'D CALL IT.........
