: Just ordered my 323i and was curious about regular vs. Synthetic oil, On an earlier post I was told Mobil one or the BMW syn. Does it hurt/help the engine to use synthetic? I was told it doesn't compress the seals as well are regular and causes leaks so you cannot switch to syn until the seals are firmly in place? What milage is it ok to switch to synthetic? Also what about replacing the stock airfilter with a preformance one? I'd like to get any extra power/preformance out of the engine as possible without getting into a ton of mods etc, just a few simple things any suggestions on filters or anything else? thanks Ohh one other question I've only seen the sports package with the M areo package, whats the difference in it doesn't have it?

STAY SYNTHETIC, IT COMES WITH THE CAR FIRST OF ALL. SECONDLY, IF YOU GET ANY NEW CAR, GO SYNTHETIC, IT WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT DAMMAGE THAT NORMAL OIL COULDNT PREVENT. SYNTHETIC PREVENTS CERTAIN FRICTION DAMAGE ONCE IT IS PUT IN, NOW FOR USED CARS, IT CAN ONLY PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE, BECAUSE THE DAMAGE THAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT FROM THE VERY START HAS ALREADY OCCURED
