I took a four hour test drive of the E46 328I with the sport suspension and found it very difficult to drive fast on quiet winding country
roads at speeds upwards of 80 MPH. I then test drove the E46 323I with the sport suspension and found a dramatic difference, it is much easier to drive fast.

The E46 328I with sport suspension drives fair on
smooth pavement and lousy on bad pavement. I mean
lousy in the sense that it takes a tremendous effort requiring constant steering corrections.
The faster you go,and or,the more road imperfections the worse it gets.

What is the difference?

The 328I has 8" X 17" wheels and P225/45/17 tires.
The 323I has 7" X 16" wheels and P225/50/16 tires.

I bought the 323I with sport suspension.
I strongly suggest that you drive both.
I am astonished at the difference in feel.
