I've been quiet long enough. This is getting to be too much. Some of the stuff that appears on this board is ridiculous:

Should I get a stick or auto?
Teach me how to drive a stick...
What is "heel-toe downshifting"....
I need an armrest for my car....
I wish my car had rear maplights.....

It's crap like this that makes BMW's a car for those seeking image, as opposed to being the Ultimate Driving Machine. Hell, there's guys on this board paying $34,000 for a 323i. For that money, the REAL driving enthusiast would buy a 328i MANUAL with sport package (the only necessary option). In a perfect world, the 3 series would only be available with a sport package and manual transmission, and would make potential drivers take written exams and drivers tests to see if they are BMW worthy.

Maybe I'm going overboard, but it's embarrasing to tell people "I just bought a BMW", and instead of those people thinking "hey he must be a drving enthusiast", they think, "oh, another image seeker".

On a positive note, Bruce and Preston are on this board, and are extremely helpful to the driving enthusiast.
