I heard it has the opposite effect on BMWs. I don't remember where, but I heard it dropped performance and gave less power!! I was shocked. Tell me how it is if you get one, I don't want my engine to lose power if I get one.
On my truck, though, I can tell you it adds new life to my 5.0 V8. That fuel crazy monster gets about 12 mpg, and I don't think the filter gave an improvement. In performance, it makes the truck behave like it got an extra cylinder. Honestly, I can't compare the performance of the stock to K&N because on my 5.0 it works wonders. My truck is definately near a 10hp gain. But this is a rather simple engine, the Ford 302 5.0L V8. I don't think it would add much power to a high tech DOHC 2.5 I-6.

99 323i Sport, finally built!!
: I have heard from 5-10 hp's. This seems kind of high. I would think even 5 hp's is on the optomistic side. Also I have heard it increases your gas mileage 2-3 mpg as well. Anyone like to share any K&N stories?
: Thanks in advance.
