Hi (the other) Ian,

My name is Ian too :-) Can you post your last name initial to distinguish between us two? Where are you? I'm in SF bay area.

Congratulations on your order and welcome to the waiting club. I ordered my car on 1/29 for early March production and mid April delivery (west coast).

The reason your build date jumped is because your original order (the 323) has gone into status "122". It means that the car configuration is already frozen and no changes is allowed. This changes occurs about 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled build date.

So when you changed the order into a 328, the dealer basically ordered another car for you, and the next available slot must be the April production.

Anyway, I know the wait is really a pain in the a**. I still have about 6 more weeks to go :-(

: Excited!! Just ordered a 328i w/sport pkg yesterday 2/18! Wife and I have been mulling this one over for awhile. We actually ordered a 323 on Tues but then switched to the 328 after deciding to bite the bullet.

: Funny thing: the est prod date for the 323 was 3/10 when ordered on 2/16 but 2 days later when switching to the 328 the est prod date jumped to 4/14!! Jeez. I I can wait but it'll be tough. Anyone have any insight on why the date jump or when I can expect delivery?
