You have the usual A4 vs 3 series dilemma. Here's my $0.02

1. Price - look to pay around $1500 over invoice
2. Performance upgrades are not as easy as the 1.8t
3. I have one on order, and don't feel bummed, as the 323i engine in my opinion is infinitely better than the 1.8t engine - smoothness, vibration, and it has a great sound. Also, no matter what is said, a turbo engine will never feel the same as a normally aspirated one, so in this sense the 323i is preferable as well. The 328i will have more power/torque, which I doubt you would really miss it unless you were used to it.

I would drive the cars back to back, and see. I would say the 3 series feels more solid too.
