My 328 comes with 17 inch performance wheels as part of the sport package and I intend getting the 16 inch ones that look exactly similar but are better for snow for the winter. Any comments on the soundness of this plan. I intend using 205/55 H rated tires or maybe 215/50. more likely the former in winter.

: : : Technically, are they any different from the OEM wheels?

: They have to be different because they look like the 328i 17" sport wheel, but they are available in 17" and 16". They are good replicas. The 17" looks good but if you look carefully at the 16" you can see some difference in the curvature of the spokes. I am not sure how the finish looks compared to the original, the pictures don't show the finish very well. The original lists for $400. I wonder how much the discount dealers like QI and BMW Store sell them for. If I could get the original for around $270 I would prefer to get those rather than the Bekkers one. Of course the good thing about the ones Bekkers sells is that they are not only available in both 16" and 17", but also each size is available in 2 different offsets, so they can be used on a variety of BMW models.
