I was not able to get the panel off. I used a plastic wedge on the lower front portion of the door between the panel that holds the speaker and the door. I was able to seperate it about an 1/8" and slide the insullation in between the outside door panel and the raised panel that holds the speaker. My feeling is that there is an acoustic problem. The speaker does not have a large enough air chamber and when the volume is increased it causes a reverb.

: you said you put some foam inbetween the door panel.
: how did you get the door panel off?

: thanks

: Jack

: : I also have same problem and I took mine into dealer thinking that I had blown out one of the front speakers. Tahy supposedly replaced the speaker but I still get the same noise. I have not pinned it down yet but I think it has to do with the grounding of the speakers or the panel that the speaker is mounted in. I put some foam inbetween the door panel and the door under the speaker and it seemed to help the problem for a while. If anyone else has a solution please let me know. The dealer is clueless.

: : i>: My 10/98 built 328 has a similar problem with some sort of virbration/rattle/resonance that seems to be coming from the front speakers. Dependin on music passage and volume, I will hear from either the passeanger or drivers side doors.

: : : I'm not too concerned about it since it doesn't happen that often.

: : : But please post anything you may find :)

: : : : : Anyone know how to take the inner door panel apart?
: : : : : the rattle in my passenger door is driving me NUTS! I'm afraid if I take it to the dealer I'll get the usuall "could not duplicate problem" response that every dealer give when you complain about rattles. So I figure I'll do this myself. but I can't figure out how to take the panel off. I only see 2 screws under the door handle, but that can't be the only thing that holds the panel on.

: : : : : anyone have experience or know of a BMW tech that can get me some info? thanks!

: : : : Hi Jack,
: : : : It seems you and I are in the same boat. I got my 323 Feb 12. Everything is perfect exceot the rattle or buzz you are talking about in the passenger door. It happens only when listening to certain passages of music or when the radio is on and the program has someone talking. This also only happens at middle to higher volumes. It driving me nuts too!!! I have to got to the dealer tommorrow to get my armrest installed and I will tell then to fix it!!! I will let you know what happens. Let me know if you find out anything.
