I know of no data on this, but I would suggest you might be cautious about installing anything that so fundamentally changes the rigidity of the engine compartment. Keep in mind that it was designed to deform in a specific fashion in the event of a frontal impact, and that a strut tower bar might change the manner in which it deforms. I'd trade a bit of understeer for safety any day.
