It'll be 3 weeks for me tomorrow Jack. (only 1000miles.) I'd be happy if I got that mileage. I get about 18/21/25 (city/mix/highway) with a manual transmission, according to the trip computer. (Granted, I have a heavy right foot.) I'm not complaining, because it's better mileage than my 4cyl. Jetta got. I tend to think that EPA mileage tends to be high. I'd check to see what Consumers Reports got for the 323 and compare it to the 323 EPA numbers.

As far as the filter goes, the cheapest I've seen it for is $7.50. I didn't ask Quality Imports how much they're asking, but with shipping, it'll probably be the same as local retail. It couldn't hurt to give them a call. Also, how much did you spend(pre quart) on the Mobil? Make sure to give us a report on how the oil change goes.
