I have experienced something similar (although I don't know if it's the same thing) in my 328i auto. It seems if I depress the gas pedal just a little the car does not start rolling for a second or so, if I step on it a little more then all of a sudden it zooms like a bat out of hell, although the engine rpm difference is only about 200 to 300 rpms, I doubt there is that much of a power difference in such a small rpm gap.

: Hello all,

: There seems to be a momentary "spool up" when starting
: from a stoplight in my automatic E46. Seems like first
: gear is not engaged quickly when the gas is depressed.
: Is this normal? Have others experienced it?

: Thanks,

: Brad
