: Is the Navigation system worth the money? Are those CD-Rom Discs updated on a regular basis and how much do they go for each update?

I have one in my 323 and love it. But the points others have made is valid. It is expensive considering the portable units you can buy but I like the fact it is all built in, easy to use and gives both picture and voice. Even turns off the radio temporarily when giving directions. Try using a laptop when driving down the road or when you have a passenger. I don't travel a whole lot but in two real cases recently where in one case I had a meeting at a hotel in another State it took me right to the front door. I didn't have to worry about looking for exits or signs. I just sat back and enjoyed the trip. I look at this this way as far as cost. I believe in a couple of years or so when and if I sell my BMW that'll I'll get back at least 1/2 the cost of what I paid which was $1675 or about $800. If it saves my butt even a couple of times it's worth to me. But again an option like this is a personal thing. Drive to new places everyday it's a no brainer. If only once a month than it is kind of hard to justify. My $.02.
