Do you have proof (i.e. a tech printout or such) that the dealer can detect the Jim C. chip?

I realise that the EPROM is going to have a different checksum, etc but does the dealer have access to this information from his diagnostics equipment? Also does the dealer record the checksum in the BMW NA computer? If he is not doing this then the current checksum could change by upgrades (DINAN, Emissions, etc) from a different dealer etc.

The dealer's diagnostics equipment is limited in its function and I am wondering how much you are speculating and how much you know as fact.
