: That's not good. I hope somehow your dealer is wrong. I just got an email from my dealer this morning telling me the following:

: The only information I have right now is that production week of the vehicle is 1999/03/12.

: btw- does anyone know how long it would take from this production date to dealer delivery (East Coast- Pennsylvania)? Oh, one other thing, the 12th is a friday- does that mean that the car will be built by then or that it will start the week after that? I have never heard anyone refer to a given week by the last day.

Look carefully at the sheet your dealer (should have) sent you. It says something like "estimated production date: year/month/WEEK" as the column heading above the build date.

So the "1999/03/12" means: the car will be built in 1999, in March. It'll be built in the 12th week of the year, which is the week from March 21st until March 27, inclusive. From what I can tell, they don't know more exactly than that when the car will be built.

If you think about it, the "March" indication is actually redundant -- from knowing the week and year, you'll know when your car will be built, +- a couple of days.

My car was built in the 8th week, i.e. last week, and should be on its way to a boat, or even be on the boat as we speak. I'm told to expect the car in the last week of March or the first week of April...
