I have the same problem w/ my 328. Some times it drives me nuts! I owned an Acura Legend before and though its transmission wasn't nearly as smoothe overall - it was more responsive. It makes me wish I had gotten a 5-speed.

I therefore tend to drive in S4 mode for city driving and D once I'm up to speed for some time. Anyone know of any problems using S4 alot?

: Hello all,

: There seems to be a momentary "spool up" when starting
: from a stoplight in my automatic E46. Seems like first
: gear is not engaged quickly when the gas is depressed.
: Is this normal? Have others experienced it?

: Thanks,

: Brad
