We recently test drove a 323 and 328 (and an A4) at different dealerships in Houston. Only problem we had was finding a BMW dealership that had 5spds in stock to drive (seems like they are all automatics!). Anyhow, we brought our 13 month old along with us and an extra car seat. Had to see if it would fit in the back and install properly, etc. Had no difficulty with it, the salesmen had no problem with it (in fact, one mentioned that we had to use a car seat if our son was going to go on the ride with us - good for him!). You should have no problem with a little one in back. In fact, a few months ago Better Homes and Gardens had an article about the new 3 saying it was the new "family" sedan with all of the safety features, airbags, etc.
Hope this helps!
: Thanks for all the input.
: Guess I should have added this in the first message. I had an appointment since my first two attempts were unsuccessful. Went to the front and said I had an appointment and the woman explained that the gentlemen they had scheduled me with had called in sick. Fair enough, people get sick. So, I asked if there was anyone else who could do a test drive and she replied that they were all booked up with appointments all day. Hmmm....
: Anyways, I guess I'll set up an appointment at a different Denver dealership and make a bit more of a drive.
: Also, anyone on here have kids in car seats? Just wondering if there was any problem with room in the back. We will be adding a little one in August, so I have to prepare.
: : Well, I went out for my first test drive of the new 323i (third try) and the same thing happened. I couldn't have paid a sales guy/gal to help me. Maybe I just look too young or something, but this is ridiculous. I'm 26, make a decent living in the computer/internet field, am pretty "yuppie" looking, etc., yet I can't even get someone who will take me serious enough to open the damn doors up.
: : Is this what BMW dealers are like? I sure haven't had any trouble at the Saab or Audi places. I definitely would expect to be treated nicely at a Bimmer place considering the great autos they manufacure, but can't even get someone to say hello.
: : Oh, well, the money I have saved for this purchase at least will sit and make a bit of interest for the time being. I'm still dreaming of a future E46 purchase.
: : Comments? Suggestions?
