: I haven't seen one in person, but the magazine reviews have been really superb, unlike the Jetta which has received mixed reviews. Road & Track (March issue) has a nice comparison test of the GTI VR6 against Civic Si. The VW costs a good deal more than the under $18,000 Civic, but is worth the price considering all the safety and standard features you get. The only option is a CD changer. The performance is great (0-60 in 6.8-6.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.2 seconds).

: I have seen a GTI GLS (4-cylinder) in person, and even that car is pretty impressive inside and out. I just wih they made a 4-door model (like the Golf GLS). Backseat is probably tight on legroom but should be no worse than a hatchback Integra.
