BMW, Audi, and Mercedes all limit at around 128 mph. I have run up against the limiter in my Audi and in a friends BMW. The real question is how fast do they go without the limiter. I don't have figures on the 323 vs A4 1.8t however I read Car which is a Euro mag a couple of months ago and they topped the new 328 and the A4 2.8 out.
The A4 2.8 did 148mph and the 328 did 150 mph. Not a big difference. You could take two different cars and get the same result in the other direction. Yes it was that close. Don't forget that gearing and drag have a roll to play here also.
