The 9.5second 0-62 time you have been
seeing is for the 2-liter Alzetta(sp?).
In Japan, the six cylinder car is in
fact the LOW end--the four cylinders put
out more hp and are mated to a six speed
manual while the six is intended to be a
more leisurely drive and puts out only 160hp.
From what I've read Lexus is currently
deliberating between a 2.5 liter and 3.0
liter high revving variant. I'd be suprised
if it falls short of 180hp--190-210 is more
likely. They know that the 3 series is their
principle competition; I doubt that they will
offer mini-van acceleration at $33.5k.
Frankly, if they keep that 6-speed i'm all
over it!
