I told my salesman a few weeks ago when I was in the dealership buying some wheels that I had ordered the alarm and was going to install it myself. He said - "It's a real bitch - unless you've done stereo installs and car electrical work before, you'd better leave it to our service dept." - I told him that there were several idiots (no offense guys/gals) on this web page with no electrical experience who did the install in an hour or less. At least when I talked to the service reps they agreed it was a simple install and told me they charge $35 to program.
: As I was closing my 323, I asked about cost to program the alarm after I purchased and installed it myself. I got a big line about being likely to tap into the coded key wiring and messing it up, then saying there would be no warranty on it, almost implying I would void the car warranty. But this was the busines manager, not anyone in service/parts. Anyone else hassled about buying/installing alarm?
