Replacing GSR with 328i (archive)

I currently have an Integra GSR which I'm replacing with a 328i (stick and sport). The 328i was ordered in early Jan and is expected (according to my dealer) in early April. My test drives of the E46 were fairly limited so I'm interested to find out from readers of this group who are familiar with both the GSR and the 328i what sorts of driving/performance differences I should expect. I know about the torque differences, and I'm really looking forward to to the 328i for that. On the other hand, it's really fun taking the GSR up to 8000rpm before shifting to the next gear. This was a problem I had on my E46 test drives. I shift primarily by sound and feel and found that I was hitting the rev limiter like crazy on almost every shift on a very low mileage E46. Thanks for any help/advice.
