I currently own an LS integra. I have done extensive engine work so the power is just a little higher than a GSR, the rev limit has been raised to 7500, so we are kind of in the same boat. I have test driven the 328i manual and I found that there is quite a difference. I did feel the torque down there but I found that the Bimmer is not as rev happy. The certain rawness of the integra was replaced by refinement in the bmw. The drivers connection to the car and road is very unique in the bmw. A certain feeling you get, hard to explain, but any bmw owner would agree.
In general, driving a RWD while driving a FWD for 5 years, does make it harder to get use to. The tail came out unexpectedly sometimes when i drove my friends bmw but that's part of the fun. The launches from the start though was easier and seemingly smoother on a RWD. I bet if you had to race these two cars and the drivers had similar shifting skills, the GSR will pull ahead in the very beginning because its so light but the bmw would start pulling at higher speeds.
