BMW makes very fine automobiles, and its my admiration, not any vendetta or insecurity that draws me here. Sometimes there is generally relevant information on this board in addition to insights into the world of BMW through the eyes of drivers.
I stayed away from the C&D threads on both boards because there's not much point...
Magazines are for browsers - cars are for drivers.
A41.8Tqms, and some of the dangerous aftermarket stuff.
: It's funny that you think there's so much Audi-related traffic here, because it pales in comparison with the amount and tone of pro-BMW/anti-Audi traffic on A4.org. I figured that you guys are quick to delete pro-A4/anti-3-series posts, because there is so little of it here.
: I believe the recent flame wars, if you can call it that, are a direct result of your buddy Alex B.'s post on A4.org. Specifically, he said the C&D test was "unfair" & "tainted", and he "bet the farm" that a 323i would win if he were given the opportunity to equip it as he saw fit, without regard to price. Of course, he failed to mention that most A4.org'ers with the 1.8T have modified their cars to 190-240hp, aftermarket suspension, etc.
: Most of the guys at A4.org, including me, think that BMW makes some of the best cars in the world. And we welcome positive contributions from BMW owners. And we certainly know that without BMW, there would be no A4.
: Perhaps some of you could e-mail Alex B., FS, abe, etc., and let them know of your displeasure with their immature instigation.
