I don't believe I've seen any discussion on this issue on this board. But I'm new, so I apologize for any replication. My question has to do with the pictures of the new E46 coupe (up various places and reproduced in several of the car mags). What I've noticed is that the body side moldings are painted the same color as the car. While this might seem like a small deal, it seems to me like a possible major new design statement by BMW, because up until now, it seems that these moldings have always been black "rubber" (plastic, whatever). If everything changes to having these moldings color coordinated with the car, it will be readily identifiable to any observer what year car you have (unless you have black or some other very dark paint). Not very desirable in my opinion. I'm really concerned about this, because I've just committed myself to a new 328i and I sure don't want it looking all that different from the coupe.
