I do drive a BMW (an E34), so I know what you're saying. I don't doubt the E46 performs superbly. Still, BMW is highly conscious of its styling (as they should be), so I would expect something a little more distinctive. A little more classically BMW-looking. In particular, the reduced-height upper portion of the rear lid just doesn't do it for me (it actually looks like a styling cue from the A4). Oh well, to each his/her own.

: : This morning I spotted a new E46 parked next to a Honda Civic sedan. They were both black. I was stunned by how similar they look from the rear (the Civic looked like a '97 or '98). Then I noticed that the profile of the E46 has some resemblance to that of an Accord. Has anyone else noticed this? I sometimes wonder if the new BMW stylists are going awry.

: I noticed the same before I bought my blue 328i, but who cares? A BMW is a BMW, if you drive one you will know what I am talking about.
