We ahve two main choices in Minneapolis proper: BMW Motorweks and Sears Imports.
Working with both, I find that the difference between the sales and the shops are unbelievable.
I have never had the slightest problem with either service department. The sales side is entirely different.
I just can't buy a car from them. They won't let me. Even if I ignored their arrogance (and this attitude is not isolated to a salesperson or two), their lack of even basic knowledge, their inability to get me a price quote, their lack of desire to evaluate my E36 for trade-in, or their refusal to let me to test drive an E46 (we like to keep the miles low OR the fuel light is on - don't go too far) on occasion, I still can't buy a car.
My last attempt involved being ready to trade-in my car and sign on a new one. At the last moment, the salesperson informed me that they could only give me $6500 for my E36 (instead of the agreed upon amount....thousands more) and wanted to know if I could write out another check for $3000.
Road trip to Chicago I guess.
