Springs go in very easily into BMW's. You need spring compressors and a couple hours time but it is not a big deal.

As for your warranty, if you change the springs and your suspension parts go to hell sometime later, you will have a bitch of a time getting work done under warranty from some dealers, others won't even blink. It all depends on where you go, and how you have treated the dealership beforehand. The relationship you have with the dealership will make all the difference in the world. If you pound them everytime you show up for every cent and everything, they will never go to bat for you. If you treat them as you should everyone else, you will find your effort paid off many times over (even if you did pay $250 more up front for the car).
