: Jon S,

: Tire Rack sells the Michelin Pilot Sport in that size for $241 each. That means $964 for four tires.

: That leaves $636 for the wheels. Therefore, each wheel costed you $160 + the original 16" Y spoke wheels + tires.

: Yaaww... that sounds kinda expensive to me. I know circlebmw sells the 17" 328i s/p wheels for $400 each. That means you only get $240 each for your original s/p wheel + tire ??

: I really appreciate the input Jon, but seems to me like it is going to be the same as buying the wheels thru a dealer ($400 - too expensive) and buying the tires from tirerack ($240 - fair price I guess... your tires are damn expensive) and selling the original 16" set for $960 (not bad at all). In math: (4x400 + 4x240 - 960 = $1600)

: Another problem is, I still need the 16" for winter time.

: Again, thanks for the pointers, but after this lengthy analysis, plus with the fact that I still need the 16" wheels (and a set of snow tires - boy, more money...), this gets pricey.

: : : I was thinking of getting 323i with s/p. Then, I'll buy either MAS E46 17" replica (www.tires.com - discount tire direct) or MAS BMW Motorsport 17".

: : : The dilema is, are these so called "replica" wheels decent enough to be used as the primary wheels (I'll probably use the sport 16" as winter wheels.

: : : Also, are these wheels "close" enough to the original ones so that they will not cause any problems later on if they are used often (as the primary wheels, not just for several months).

: : : Any suggestions ?? thoughts ??
: : : Thanks

: : : Pete

: : : I went with O.E.M. "take-offs" 17" for my new 323... Globe Tire Co. in L.A. can set you up.
: : All said and done I spent about $1,600. (with exchange) for the 328i 17" sport package wheels.
: : The bulk of the expense was the tires: 225/45 ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sports. Boy are they "sticky".. -Jon

: Actually, I just checked the R.O. It was $1538.00 including shipping, mount and balance, and installation. Had them installed within 12 hrs.
