I think I have the latter problem with my steering? Do you think it is going to cause any excessive wear on tyres or other parts until such time as the control arm ...blah blah is fixed. It does not really bother me that much since I am getting used to the slight involuntary turning especially more apparent during braking and on warped roads (not happy about it but I try not to be picky) but I just want to know whether you think there may be excessive wear. Thanks.
: : Rick,
: : What's the latest on the steering/brake vibration and steering floatiness on the 3-series. Based on discussions on the message board its mor prominent in with larger wheels/tires.
: : Does BMW acknowledge this as a problem?
: : If so, are they working on a fix for the 1999 models?
: : Thanks

: : Actually, there are two different things going on here... The fix for the steering vibration is a valve that can be installed in the
: brake line of the front brakes.... Similar to a proportioning valve. Your service department has the ability to do this now. The steering "floatiness" is related to the control arm bushings... A fix is purportedly "in the works"...
