: Does anyone have the navigation system? Is it worth the $$$? I'm ready to order a 328 but can't make up my mind. For those of you who have it:
: (1) Acording to the BMW web site the E46 on-board nav displays an 8-function computer, is this correct or a mis-print?
: (2) Can you use the system as a stand-alone map, without the voice prompts?

: Thx,

I have a MY2000 328i on order with nav system. Yes the display (entire unit) is the same as on the 5 series and 7 series: 8 function computer (also reads out on the dash below the instruments). Voice commands can be shut off. Climate control system moved down to the little cubby hole below the nav system. You can't get the in-dash CD player though with the nav system; you need the trunk mounted unit CD changer which installs nicely above the nav system in the trunk on the left side...very nice installation.
