: As a recent owner of a E46 328 with sport package, I have suffered from the infamous steering wheel shake on braking since Day 1. My dealer yesterday investigated and has ordered new rotors. Although I'm not foolish enough to think this is the definitive fix, after all I've read on this board, I find it odd that my rotors could be "warped" when delivered from the factory. This condition has been in existence since I picked up the car, and did not develop after a few thousand kilometres (I'm in Canada) of driving, as in many cases.

: Has anyone else had a similar experience--right out of the box, so to speak.

I am in Canada as well. I did not notice the same problem until about 5000km. The steering starts to shake during high speed brake (say, beyond 90kph). I took the car to the dealer and they replaced the rotors. It seems to me a bit unusual since I am not a aggressive driver (i.e. I normally apply the brake quite gently).
Do you also have the problem of steering floatiness during highway driving (say, beyond 100kph)?
Does anyone on this board know if BMW actually knows about this problem and is working on a solution? Appreciate your response.
