In Reply to: What's a fair price for 323i alarm??? posted by KVick on April 14, 1999 at 16:51:35:

This has been discussed a lot - there are even instructions for installation. I ordered mine from Quality Imports - $216 (I think they've gone up a little since then) and plan on installing it myself in 5 days (when car is delivered). You have to take your car back to the dealer to program the alarm - some do it for free, others charge $35-$50 on average. I've opened up the box and checked out the alarm - it's three simple parts that get plugged-in to existing wire harnesses in your car - unless you can't work a screwdriver, do it yourself.

: My 323i is arriving tomorrow and I want to add on an alarm. The dealer says that $790 is his price. I think that's way too high. Any comments???
