I got my detailed pictures back from the NY car show, (sorry, no facility to post), but now I can be more specific on this beautiful looking car, and about how it compares to the 4dr.
a) Top half of back-up lense is entirely clear, unlike 4dr which has red band around it.
b) Towing access panel are hidden better from view.
c) No black band on bumper, all body color like front.
d) integrated reflective lenses in rear bumper.
a) Round fog lenses within larger opening, divided into two sections. Top section with fog lights has horizontal bar, bottom section has four vertical supports. Not certain if 'egg-crate' effect is behind this, but don't think so.
a) Steering wheel looks just like sport 4dr, except it has a rounded air-bag, rather than triangular. And bottom spoke is split into two smaller rounded spokes.
b) Door opening latch has a back pad that extends forward approx. double the length on 4dr. (black background)
c) Panel above pull handle for closing door is less squared than on 4dr, and has a more aero or tear-drop shape.
d) Myrtle wood isn't on panel to the rear of door release, it goes on the pull handle for closing the door, and is sandwiched under a pad.
e)Tiptronic automatic has a shifter boot like a manual trans. would have
f) Split fold-down seats (reportedly standard)
g) no rear side-impact air-bags (reportedly gone)
a) Sportier mirrors have rounded stalk and four slots on top to eliminate wind whistle, unlike 4dr mirror which looks sort of flat on back.
b) INTERESTINGLY, tires are 225/45ZR-17 on the front, and are 245/40ZR-17 on the rear.
Car is now supposedly at BMWNA or somewhere in NJ. Is due to be at BMW Manhattan on 22nd for viewing under civilized conditions. (Supposedly, invitations are provided to interested parties.)
Hope this helps some of you. Looks like a great car.
