: : As a recent owner of a E46 328 with sport package, I have suffered from the infamous steering wheel shake on braking since Day 1. My dealer yesterday investigated and has ordered new rotors. Although I'm not foolish enough to think this is the definitive fix, after all I've read on this board, I find it odd that my rotors could be "warped" when delivered from the factory. This condition has been in existence since I picked up the car, and did not develop after a few thousand kilometres (I'm in Canada) of driving, as in many cases.
: : Has anyone else had a similar experience--right out of the box, so to speak.

: : Our factory service rep told me on monday that they have a valve available to install on the front brake lines "in-line"... a sort of proportioning valve to correct to "warped rotor" feeling. This fix is allegedly available now. The "floatiness" condition is the one "they're still working on". -Jon
I called BMW customer service reguarding the steering problem, and the rep told me there is no recall on E46 and he never heard anything about this problem. ??? My dealer, which it is a really bad one, told me there is nothing wrong with the car. I don't know where else to go. I just sent a letter to BMWNA reguarding the steering problem, I hope they will get back to me soon, or at all.
