: First of all, which entity is "in person," the wheels or the observer? Pretty hilarious contortion if you ask me.

: Now, I have seen photographs of the wheels, and I have seen the ACTUAL wheels. Guess what? They look EXACTLY the same. (Oh, I guess the pictures are smaller!)

: Now really, if you had a choice, would you actually choose those wheels? I think what's happening is you are rationalizing your decision to buy the sport package including those (ugh) wheels.

: No offense to those who like the wheels, but how many posters to this website have expressed an interest in buying them? Personally, I wouldn't even want them as my winter wheels. I'll bet you won't see them as an offering on the 2000 models.

: The "Y-spoke" wheels kind of "grow on you".
Originally I had ordered M-contours for my new 323, but they were back-ordered... Then I ordered the 17" Star (328i sport) wheels... Right before they arrived I had second thoughts on changing them altogether. I was just starting to like the std sport package wheels! However, once I saw the car with the larger wheels, there was no doubt about it... Just my $.02 -Jon
