: The E46 Accessory brochure has many phone options but they are all analog. The real question is if we can get our hands on phones that are digital. BMW offers GSM digital in-car phones in Europe; if there is a way to get these in the states and have someone like VoiceStream (GSM provider) hook it up, then now that's a phone!

GSM in the rest of the world (outside of North America) opperates on a different freq (with very few exceptions). This frequency difference would not be a huge obsticle for BMW as the manufactures of these BMW phones have North American GSM phones on the market.
