I work in PA just outside Phila. which dealership is it. will go there if the guy offers a good deal
i am not looking for the best deal anyway. just a good enough deal is fine. i may even go for the 993 as a weekend car since I love the look of it
best of luck with your boxster
: : Frank, as usual, your da man as far as negotiating for cars is concerned. Well, anyway, best of luck with your boxster and keep me informed. I have been toying (and toying only) with the idea of a 996 but i am not sure that I like the latest body type. I think I prefer the slightly smaller but more aggressive looking body type of last year so I do not know how I will proceed. But I do want to know how this works out. Just from your post, since I was not privy to prior postings on the matter, I was not able to fully comprehend the economics behind the deal i.e. how do the various players in the game benefit. So I am very interested in the method too. Take care. best of luck.
: Ran, in my case, they want to use me in their advertising. I agreed to that, and they in turned agreed to subsidize the difference between the deal I negotiated with my dealer, and the actual invoice price of my Boxster. They were having difficulty find dealers who would discount the car enough to make their part of the deal be in the $3K range. I have pretty much searched from coast to coast, and found my deal in PA. The deal as it has been described to me, will be the same that TamH mentions above. They will send the check to the dealer to serve as my Deposit/Initial down payment. This will get me on the list, and in the queue for a car. When the car arrives, I'll show up (check in hand), and finish off the deal. (And drive the 720 miles home!)
