I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I've been reading this board for the past couple of days and it's abundantly clear that some people have steering problems and some (like myself) do not.
What could account for this? These cars are engineered and presumably built the exact same way- there is no reason a significant number of these cars should have such disturbing problems while others are perfect.

Maybe all these troubled cars were built around the same time and the error in manufacturing occured at that time.

Maybe the problem is not as widespread and only seems that way because people with problems would be more likely to seek out a BMW message board and post their issues.

I really sympathize with those who have this problem - if it were a design error, at least it would be understandable. But the fact that some people have trouble and some don't is exasperating.

Inundate BMW with complaints, that's the only way a recall will happen....
