: Both cars are similarly priced....can people tell me about their experiences...I haven't driven the Audi yet.

The A6 competes more with the 5 series than with the 3 series, so you should first ask yourself "do I want a 3 or a 5-series sized car?"

The A6 2.8 that's available in the US competes more with the 528i than the 328i. In Europe, Audi just introduced the A6 4.2, which has the 4.2 liter V8 that's also in the A8. This car competes with the BMW 540i.

Realize that you're going to give up some sportiness when you go for the A6/528i over the 328i, and that you'll gain comfort and luxury, so the bigger issue you'll have to figure out first is what you want in your next car. Being 26 and single, I went for the 328i.
