I won't use it that much, but it is nice to have. The aftermarket system is $300 less, but it is underneathe the climate controls, and there is no map. For $300 more, I might as well get the better system.
I have an in-dash CD now. I really don't care whether it is a changer or in-dash CD. I do want a cassette player (I listen to Audio Books on long trips). If the price is right, I will get the CD Changer. Who knows, maybe BMW will come out with a CD Changer that will fit under the climate control or in the glovebox.
: ... how often do you really drive somewhere where you'll need directions? I rarely do.
: But the killer for me was that I absolutely dislike CD changers, and wanted the in-dash player. Yeah, I'm very fickle when it comes to music, so pre-loading a 6-disc changer cartridge and then having to listen to only those discs for the duration of my drive doesn't cut it for me. Nav and in-dash CD are mutually exclusive options, so I went for the in-dash CD. Nav and auto transmission are the only 2 options I didn't get, for reasons that now should be obvious.
: So this is my first gripe about the car: where the heck am I supposed to put CDs? I've been using the pocket in the driver's side door, but that kinda sucks... I know, it's tough, and I'll just have to suffer through it. :)
