: I won't use it that much, but it would be nice to have. The aftermarket one currently available for the E46 is $300 less, and does not include any kind of mapping abilities. I wanted a cassette player (I listen to those books on tape on long drives), and the in dash CD player is not important to me. I am considering the CD Changer in the trunk (depending on price), and hopefully BMW will come out with a changer that can fit under the climate control or in the glovebox.
: : ... how often do you really drive somewhere where you'll need directions? I rarely do.
: : But the killer for me was that I absolutely dislike CD changers, and wanted the in-dash player. Yeah, I'm very fickle when it comes to music, so pre-loading a 6-disc changer cartridge and then having to listen to only those discs for the duration of my drive doesn't cut it for me. Nav and in-dash CD are mutually exclusive options, so I went for the in-dash CD. Nav and auto transmission are the only 2 options I didn't get, for reasons that now should be obvious.
: : So this is my first gripe about the car: where the heck am I supposed to put CDs? I've been using the pocket in the driver's side door, but that kinda sucks... I know, it's tough, and I'll just have to suffer through it. :)
