You apparently didn't read my message very well! I was discussing only the steering vagueness problem that seems to be spreading to everyone that reads the forum (well, maybe half). Never said anything about brakes - that's more of a cut and dried problem.

If you're going to wish that I have problems, then maybe I should wish that your problem is never solved. Instead, wouldn't it be more constructive to grow up a little and hope that nobody else has the problem, because that would mean that BMW finally found the cause, and might be able to fix your car?

Also, I never said that no one had an actual steering problem. In fact, I agree that some people do have it. Others, I strongly suspect, think they do. They're the ones that already own their cars and start asking what the symptoms are (because they just might have it), even though they personally haven't noticed anything.

Do you think that 100% of the problems that people report on a forum like this are real? I'd say a certain, hopefully small, percentage are made up by non-owners. Try to visualize the owner of a good 'ol 'Mercan pickup coming to the E46 forum to report problems. It can happen.
