thanks, your carsdirect info. is fantastic!
i just want to ask you:
(1) you "took delivery that same night", so, that day carsdirect people promised you they will pitch in "$1700"?
(2) what kind of assurance did they give you then? (i suppose you must feel it was too good to be true then.)
(3) did you ever feel that carsdirect deal may not going thorough?
: : What's the latest on CarsDirect? Recent posts by 'Universal' state that they're paying the difference on MSRP and invoice??? What gives? Is this legit? I'd like hear from others who've called or have info to share. Thanks!
: Hey Folks,
: I got my red '99 323i from Cars Direct nearly two weeks ago (3/31/99). Filled out the form on their page, got a response from an agent the next day - took delivery that same night from Long Beach BMW (I live in Santa Monica/West LA).
: The price on the sticker was $33710 - premium, in-dash CD, leather, automatic, moonroof. The price for the sale was $31855. Invoice according to M$ Carpoint was $29955. Cars Direct pitched in $1700 on my down payment, leaving me to pay the $200 MACO (?) advertising fee + the remainder ($29955 + taxes).
: I paid taxes on the car based on the sale price of $31855 - can't dodge Uncle Sam on those taxes. In all, quite a good experience - and much better than the $800 of sticker Santa Monica BMW was willing to give me.
: Now if BMW would just make an in-car GSM 1900 phone, so I can slip that SIM card out of my StarTAC and have the same number in the car.....
