my friend has a 323i auto, i think the problem is
not a heavy pedal but rather, that a disproportionate
rise in rpms results from a slight touch on the
pedal when starting from a standstill...as in,
if you push it with moderate force, the car jerks
because the engine starts revving quickly but then
shifts at 2K rpm anyway...strange, but after 10
mins driving i got used to it (stop and go though)
basically you take it real easy and ease the car
into a start, then you can flog it all you want :)
also this was most noticeable in parking lots with
speed bumps, after going over the bumps at 5 or
10 mph, accelerating again nearly always jerks the car.

funny, it took more attention than the average slushbox...

hope it helped?

p.s. other than this, i don't think the pedal in the
auto is stiff at all, just right for me, i hate
extremely light pedals, and this is certainly
a lot lighter sprung than the e30 325i 5spd i was
driving before (my cars are manual) =)

: anyone noticed a heavy throttle / accelerator peddle on the e46 323i auto? Seems to be jerky at low speeds. Wondered if anyone has had the same experience and found a modification of any kind?
