I have a non-sport 323i that I did a plus 2 to 225/45/17s. The ride will get harsher, but not by much. I was surprised by how well it still rides and the handling improvement. My car needed suspension tweaking that my dealer did for me to correct a left pull after I put the wheels on. He adjusted the toe-in, which is a standard alignment type adjustment. However, IMO save yourself the trouble of getting aftermarket wheels and tires. Just get the bigger OEM set when you order the car. If I had to do it over, that is what I would do.
