Thanks... I figured it out as such, too. Alo, the smell lasted for about a minute, and it never came back. So it seems that some engine parts were just getting heated up, probably for the first time (I have about 2400 miles).
: The burning smell first occured when i was just cruising along and is very noticeable right after starting the car. The service dept simply said the starter was causing the smell and are replacing it.
: I wouldn't worry about aggressive driving. I redline my car pretty frequently and there is a faint smell afterwards, but it is just normal engine wear. The smell i was referring to was much worse, bad enough to suffocate you.
