1) yes you can use both at the same time
2) The radio will automatically mute when the nav system has to say something. then come back on after the nav system is done talking.
3) When you listen to the radio, it displays the 8 onboard computer functions, as well as the radio station frequency #, call letter (if station supports it) and RDS (what type of music they play, again this is if the radio station supports it and is broadcasting that info).
4) you can turn the LCD off if you like (even when the radio is on), but it turns on by itself when you start the car everytime. No it does not get annoying (atleast not for me). At night, it dims according to the brightness you have set for the rest of the gauges/dials so it doesn't even get noticed most of the time unless you purposely turn to look at it.
: I have a few questions regarding the interoperability of the stereo and the navigation system (the color one):
: 1) Can you use the sound system and the navigation system at the same time?
: 2) If so, is the volume of the radio lowered every time a spoken direction is given by the navigation system?
: 3) What type of information is displayed on the color LCD for the radio player, the cassette player and the CD changer?
: 4) If the sound system is being used, is the color LCD always on regardless of whether the navigation system is being used or not? If so, isn't this annoying, specially at night?
