Asking where the safe jack points are?

I've had my car on ramps--and on stands. I was told by a BMW tech that you could jack from the rear suspension--then put jack stand under jack mount point. This works well.

In the front I'm not as sure--I was told (by same BMW tech) to use a frame rail about 12" from jacking point. Jack there then put the jack stand at jack point.

I still prefer ramps if I know I'm not taking the wheels off. (ie: for oil changes)

Disclaimer: I'm not responsable for you jacking your vehicle.
